JLM Design & Events is located in Midlothian VA, and was founded in early 2020 by Johanna Milby.
With many years of experience and expertise in the wedding and events industry, Johanna with the support of her wonderful husband, Wes, and two little sidekicks (Liam & Owen), decided to follow her passion and officially open the doors to JLM Design & Events.
Johanna previously worked as the Senior Coordinator & Lead Planner for a well known local venue in Richmond VA, where she found her passion and fell in love with the process of helping clients realize their vision and helping them turn that vision into reality.
Johanna has designed, planned and coordinated over 110 weddings including her own and over 250 memorable occasions & private events.

The Passion Behind What We Do
''Hi, I'm Abby! If you look up "people person" in the dictionary...you'll find A picture of me in my natural habitat having fun, chatting away with someone while serving customers through some sort of program or event.
As an extreme extrovert (and your typical "Type A" personality) I have found a love for serving others through wedding & event coordination. My wedding & event coordination background comes from both professional and personal experience as I have spent the last four years coordinating programming in state government, spending countless hours planning and hosting bachelorette parties, baby and bridal showers and themed parties as well as coordinating and facilitating weekend long retreats for my sorority. When I'm not busy planning an upcoming event you can either find me playing with my pup, Annie, or sipping a glass of red wine with my girlfriends. I'm excited to work together and help make your wedding & event dreams come true!"
" Hello! My name is Jessica Hall! I am a mama to two little boys, Branch & Baylor. I am also a Kindergarten teacher in Henrico County. In 2015, I planned my own wedding and fell in love with the wedding & event planning & coordination process. Since then I have helped many friends plan and coordinate their weddings & events. Following my passion In 2017, I received my certification in event planning from the University of Richmond. I am excited to work together & help make your wedding & event dreams come true!"

While working for a well-known local venue in the Richmond VA area, I had the honor of assisting in over 100 weddings, social events, and corporate functions (just to name as few). I thoroughly enjoy taking the time to really connect with our clients & getting to know them on a personal level so I can better understand exactly what they envision for their event. The saying “it's all in the details” is true to my style and I believe it is the little touches that make for a memorable event!
In my spare time, I enjoy anywhere with a beach, good food, & spending time with my husband & two cats Tuggerford and Sophie. A fun exciting fact my husband & I are expecting our first child (a little GIRL "Lily") in Fall of 2020!"
